Mit dem geplanten Verbundforschungsvorhaben sollen die lipidsenkenden und potentiell antiatherosklerotischen Wirkungen von Lupinenprotein soweit aufgeklärt werden, dass innovative gesundheitsfördernde Lebensmittel auf Lupinenproteinbasis mit hoher Verbraucherakzeptanz am Markt angeboten werden können.
In klinischen Studien an der Universität Jena werden die minimal wirksame Menge an Lupinenprotein sowie die Langzeitwirkung des Verzehrs Lupinenprotein reicher Mischkost beim Menschen ermittelt.

The objective of this joint project is to elucidate the lipid-reducing and potentially anti-atherosclerotic effects of lupin proteins in order to allow innovative, health-promoting foods based on lupin protein having high consumer acceptance to be introduced into the marketplace.
Clinical studies at the University of Jena will determine the minimum quantity of lupin protein required to induce these health benefits as well as the long-term effect of eating a balanced diet rich in lupin protein.
