Zuerst wird mit dem Femtosekundenlaser im Inneren der Hornhaut (dem Stroma) ein linsenförmiges Gewebeteil erzeugt.
Gleichzeitig wird mit dem gleichen Laser in der Hornhaut ein kleiner tunnelförmiger Schnitt von 4 mm Breite durchgeführt.
