Dieses Phänomen ist zentral im Verständnis der tatsächlich ausgesprochenen Satzmelodie in vielen Tonsprachen sowie Intonationssprachen.
Es liegt an der Schnittstelle zwischen phonologischen Repräsentationen ( Töne, Betonung, Fokus, prosodische Konstituenten ) und der phonetischen Realisierung ( tatsächliche Höhe der Grundfrequenz, die wir als Satzmelodie wahrnehmen ).
