Um die Komposition Neuer Musik in der Region Nord-Ostasien zu fördern, veranstaltet das Goethe-Institut Korea in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF) 2013 erstmals das „Asian Composers Showcase“.
Nachdem ein prominent besetztes Auswahlkomitee im Sommer 2012 vier junge Komponisten und Komponistinnen aus China, Japan und Korea identifiziert hat, wurden diese vom Goethe-Institut damit beauftragt neue Werke zu schreiben.

To support young composers from North-East Asia, the Goethe-Institut Korea, in collaboration with the Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF), will present the “Asian Composers Showcase” for the first time in 2013.
In the summer of 2012, a committee of four, including internationally renowned composers and a conductor, chose four aspiring young composers from China, Japan and Korea.
