Zeigt die mikroskopische Untersuchung einen oberflächlich wachsenden Tumor, so wird der Patient während 5 Jahren nach der Tumorresektion in regelmässigen Abständen mittels Blasenspiegelung und Spülzytologie nachkontrolliert, da diese Harnblasentumore dazu neigen an anderer Stelle neu aufzutreten, was in rund 70 % der Fälle auftritt.
