Am EU-Forschungsprojekt CARIBIC, was für „Civil Aircraft for the Regular Investigation of the atmosphere Based on an Instrument Container” steht, beteiligen sich unter Federführung des Mainzer Max-Planck-Instituts für Chemie zwölf weitere wissenschaftliche Institutionen aus ganz Europa sowie Lufthansa und Fraport.
