www.aec.atLangzeit ERP Zeitreihen als Indikatoren für Klimavariabilität und Klimaänderung ( ERP-CLIVAR ) untersucht, inwieweit Variationen in Erdrotationsparametern ( ERP ) wie der Tageslänge ( length-of-day, LOD ) und Polbewegung ( polar motion, PM ) als Klimaindikatoren verwendet werden können.
Auf der interannualen Zeitskala beeinflusst das gekoppelte Ozean-Atmosphäre Phänomen El Niño – Southern Oscillation ( ENSO ) Variationen in der Tageslänge und Polbewegung bzgl. ihrer Amplitude und Ausmaß unterschiedlich stark.
Um den unterschiedlichen Einfluss von Atmosphäre und Ozean auf LOD und PM zu berücksichtigen, konzentrieren sich unsere Untersuchungen zum einen auf die Beziehung LOD-Atmosphäre, während Interaktionen zwischen PM und dem Ozean von unserem Ko-Partner ( siehe Details unter www.erdrotation.de, Projekt 10 ) untersucht werden.

Considering the different effect of atmosphere and ocean on LOD and PM, our analyses focus on relations between LOD - atmosphere while interaction between PM and ocean are studied by our co-partner ( see also for more details www.erdrotation.de, project 10 ).
