Seit 2011 promoviert er mit einem Stipendium des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) in Frankfurt und schließt derzeit seine Dissertation zum Thema „Palynology and Organic Geochemistry of the Miocene Deposits:
