Im Rahmen eines Forschungsverbundes zur schnelleren Erkennung und besseren Bekämpfung von Infektionserregern, die zu einem Gesundheitsrisiko für den Menschen werden können, starten im Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Bundesforschungsinstitut für Tiergesundheit ( FLI ), am Standort Jena Forschungsarbeiten über das im letzten Jahr neu aufgetretene Darmbakterium EHEC O104 : H4, den Erreger des Q-Fiebers Coxiella burnetii und den Pesterreger Yersinia pestis.
Diese Projekte sind Teil des internationalen Forschungsverbundes „ ANTIGONE “ ( ANTIcipating the Global Onset of Novel Epidemics – Früherkennung des globalen Auftretens neuartiger Epidemien ), der von der EU mit 12 Millionen Euro aus dem Forschungsrahmenprogramm gefördert wird.
ANTIGONE besteht aus 14 Partnern aus 7 Ländern.
www.fli.bund.deIn the frame of a research network for rapid detection and improved control of infectious agents which have the potential to become a threat to human health the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut, Federal Research Institute for Animal Health ( FLI ), Jena has started research on the intestinal bacterium EHEC O104 : H4 which newly emerged last year, on the causative agent of Q fever Coxiella burnetii, and the causative agent of plague Yersinia pestis.
These projects are part of the international research network „ ANTIGONE “ ( ANTIcipating the Global Onset of Novel Epidemics ) supported by the EU with 12 million Euros from the EU research framework programme.
ANTIGONE consists of 14 partners from 7 countries.
